Your support helps us improve the lives of youth in Roatan, Hondruas
SOL International Foundation has been working on Roatan for over 20 years to promote education and increase the quality of life for the at risk youth on the island. We have learned some important lessons along the way.
The most important being that in order for our "SOL kids" to have the best chance of success, we need a comprehensive approach that addresses all aspects of their well being and not only academics: self esteem, mental health, family support, nutrition, and physical health.
We accomplish our mission through the following programs:
- Our scholarship program that pays for tuition, transportation, school supplies, and lunches for the selected students.
- Our fully staffed Community Center- offers tutoring, therapy sessions, a safe space for play, and various community events.
- Our Sports Program that enables participation in volleyball, baseball, track and field, soccer, and basketball.
- Our Happy Tummies and Jr. Chef program that feeds daily breakfast and lunch to all our kids and also teaches basic cooking skills and nutrition.
- Our Girls with Goals - a powerful new program connecting our high school girls with inspiring female professionals and entrepreneurs.
